Christmas and Winter Crafts

Craft Idea - Quick and Easy Christmas Card with Country Star Motif

If you do not have a lot of time but still believe in making homemade Christmas cards, then this card is ideal for you. Two other examples of this card are also shown for variation.

Christmas Cards - Star - Scrapbook Paper

For this project you will need:

- 1 blank white card
- red corrugated cardboard
- white cardstock
- red satin ribbon
- red effect ribbon or yarn
- scrapbook paper with Christmas greetings - the page used here is one is from the “DCWV Text Prints
the Paper Stack” 12x12 inch paper
- stick glue
- tape
- hole puncher

Instructions:

1. Cut a 6 cm strip of scrapbook paper to cover the bottom half of the card. The width of the paper is the width of your card.
2. Cut out a corrugated cardboard star and punch 2 holes in the center of the star.
3. Insert a 20 cm piece of red ribbon from the backside of the star into a hole and down through the second hole. Both ends are on the backside of the star and you only see a loop on the front.
4. Insert a 30 cm piece of ribbon and a 30 cm piece of effect yarn through the loop. Tie each in a separate bow and arrange nicely on the star.
5. Now tape the two ribbon ends that are hanging from the backside of the star to the inside cover of the card. Make sure the ribbon is covering the seam where the scrapbook paper meets card. Cover the inside cover with a second piece of white cardstock to cover these ends.
