This Christmas craft project is perfect for those who have little space on their tables for large centerpieces. The mini-lantern is fun and quick to create and makes a wonderful table decoration for the holidays.
For this project you will need:
- gold colored cardstock or color of choice - pattern - ruler - scissors - dull knife or small pointed stylus - paper puncher with Christmas motif - tea light
1. Print out the pattern so that each side measures 3 cm. Trace the pattern onto your gold cardstock. 2. Cut around the outside lines. 3. Use the stylus or backside of a dull knife and score the dotted inside lines and also the line to the flap (shaded area). 4. Fold the points to the outside. 5. Punch a motif in each of the 6 sides. 6. Apply double sided tape to the flap so that it can be attached to the inside of the lantern. 7. Remove the protective paper of the tape and adhere it to the inside of the lantern. 8. Add a tea light.
Tip: Add a precut and prescored lantern to your Christmas cards as a mini-gift. Fold only once in half so that only 3 sides are showing and it will fit perfectly within a Christmas card. All the recipient will have to do is fold the lantern and stick it together.
