Easy Glittery Table Decoration for a New Year’s Eve Celebration or Party

Create quick and easy eye-catching table decorations for the New Year’s Eve party within a short time and with minimal supplies.

2013 New Years Table Decoration 1

For this project you will need:

- glittery wrapping or craft paper in colors of choice OR... paint and matching shake-on glitter
- plain semi-thick cardboard (like the thickness of a cereal box)
- craft glue
- wooden skewers
- white paint
- medium sized star punch

Instructions for using glitter paper:

1. Paint 4 skewers white and set aside to dry.
2. Print out the numbers 2, 0, 1, and 3. Here the Windows font “Victorian LET” was used and the numbers were printed out to the size of 7 cm height.
3. Glue the different colored glitter paper onto one side of the cardboard and then follow the “How to Make Patterns Tutorial” and trace these numbers onto the backside of the cardboard. Cut the numbers out. If you wish both sides of the cardboard to be glittery, glue the paper now on the backside of the cardboard and cut the shape out.
4. Glue the numbers onto the dry skewers.
5. Punch out stars in all of the colors and glue onto the numbers and sticks.
6. Insert the sticks into a glass or other container that is filled with sand and place on the table to enjoy.

Instructions for using paint and glitter:

1. Paint 4 skewers white and set aside to dry.
2. Print out the numbers 2, 0, 1, and 3. Here the Windows font “Victorian LET” was used and the numbers were printed out to the size of 7 cm height. Follow the “How to Make Patterns Tutorial” and trace these numbers onto one side of the cardboard. Cut the numbers out.
3. Paint the cardboard numbers with paint and let dry. Apply a thin layer of glue over the painted side and then shake glitter onto the glue to completely cover it. Let it dry. If you wish that the backside be also painted and glitter, repeat this process for the backside.
4. Glue the numbers onto the dry skewers.
5. Punch out stars in all of the colors and glue onto the numbers and sticks.
6. Insert the sticks into a glass or other container that is filled with sand and place on the table to enjoy.
