Jewelry and Bead Craft - Brown and Green Beaded Necklace 75

Beaded Necklace Project and List of Materials here

Use this technique to create individual necklaces for all occasions. After adding each crimping bead, pinch close!

Beaded Necklace Tutorial 1

1. First of all, cut three lengths of perlon thread to a length you wish your necklace to be. At one end, insert all three ends into a crimping bead and pinch closed with your pliers to hold the threads secure while you are working. Later you will cut this away and add a new one. Continue with step 2.

2. The first row of the three lengths consists of 2 types of beads. This is the first one. Insert a crimping bead and pinch closed about 12 cm (about 4.8 - 5 inches) from the pinched bead. Add an acrylic bead and then another crimping bead that will be again pinched closed. Go to step 3.

3. About 1 cm or about 1/2 inch from the completed bead in step 2, add another crimping bead and pinch closed, a 8/0 size bead and another crimping bead. About 1 cm from this bead, you will repeat step 2 again.

Continue Steps 2 and 3 alternatively until you are about 12 centimeters from the other end.

Beaded Necklace Tutorial 4

4. Now you will work on the middle thread. About 14 cm or 5.6 inches from the beginning end, insert a crimping bead that gets pinched closed. Then insert an 8/0 bead, a 6mm acrylic bead and another 8/0 bead. To finish, add another crimping bead to hold in place. About 2.5 cm or an inch after this bead, start this step again.

Continue this step until you are about 14 cm from the other end.

Beaded Necklace Tutorial 5

5. Now you will work on the bottom thread. About 12 cm (about 4.8 - 5 inches) from the beginning end, insert a crimping bead that gets pinched closed. Then insert an 8/0 bead, a 6mm acrylic bead and another 8/0 bead. To finish, add another crimping bead to hold in place. About 2.5 cm or an inch after this bead, start this step again.

Continue this step until you are about 12cm from the other end.

6. This is how the rows look now when all of the beads are added.

Beaded Necklace Tutorial 9

7. To finish, cut away the first crimping bead added in step one. Insert all three threads simultaneously through a pinch catch (also called clamshell) and then add again a crimping bead to the other end about where the first one was. Pull the pinch catch up to the bead and squeeze close, enclosing the crimping bead. The other end of the pinch catch has a hook that will be attached to the necklace closure piece.

For the other end, insert all three threads simultaneously through a pinch catch and then add a crimping bead also about 12 cm from the end. Pinch the crimping bead closed, pull the pinch catch up to the bead and squeeze close, enclosing the crimping bead. The other end of the pinch catch has a hook that will be attached to the necklace closure piece.
