Crafts for Valentine’s Day - Acrylic Painting with Red Heart Motif

Paint! It is a wonderful way to relax and at the same time express what you have in yourself. It is not as hard as it seems and the motif does not have to be difficult. Here it is just a plain heart. As you go along, you will be tempted to try more complicated designs.

For this project you will need:
- Canvas in desired size
- acrylic paint in red, orange and gold
- structure paste
- pencil
- 1 paint brush for each color
|
|
|
|
|
|
Instructions:
1. Draw your image lightly on your canvas with a pencil.
2. Fill in the heart area with the structure paste and let it first dry before continuing.
3. Start painting within the heart with the light color and work darker as you go towards the outside. Blend the paints well.
4. Start with the light color around the heart. The red and orange colors get alternately painted on to the canvas and blended wet on wet.
5. The gold gets used at the end for highlights.
