Hay Star Decoration for Christmas

Children should always be supervised when using a hot glue gun! Recommended for ages 8 and up

Hay Decoration 1

1. Cut out a form of choice out of a cardboard box. This could be a leaf, pumpkin, or anything that has an easy shape.

Hay Decoration 2

2. Using a hot glue gun, glue hay to one side of the form until form is covered. Reverse the form and repeat. To prevent this project from being so messy, it is advisable to work over a box. The hay that falls from the project can be collected and used again.

Hay Decoration 3

3. Once covered, use gold wire or green florist wire and wrap the form all over criss crossing and securing any loose hay. You can also keep adding hay to add more thickness and height to the form. Once completed, cut away any excess hay hanging over the edges or standing out.

Hay Decoration 4

4. To keep the decoration looking natural, decorate with a bow made out of raffia and with natural items. Continue decorating until desired effect is achieved.
