Birthday Card with Flowers

Maybe you have a special friend and feel like sending her/him special wishes... just so, or even for a birthday. Even though it is very easy to send electronic messages, it is still fun for someone to receive “real mail”. Why not surprise a friend by creating a handmade personal card and sending it off. Imagine how happy that person will be after going to the mail box and finding your personal greetings instead of just bills and junk mail.

For this project you will need:

- white card that is approximately 10 x 14 cm or 4 x 6 inches in size
- white and pink cardstock
- white fiber paper
- embossing and die cutting machine of your choice (for example Sizzix Big Shot, Cuttlebug, etc...)
- embossing folder with spring flowers
- Sizzix Sizzlits Stanzer Flourish and Heart #4
- 2 paper punches with flowers (1 large, 1 medium sized)
- one paper punch with a small circle
- rubber stamp or silicone stamp with “Happy Birthday” or other message
- black stamp pad
- decorative edged scissors
- 3-D foam adhesive
- stick glue
- two pink mini-brads

These were the paper punches used for this project.

Instructions:

1. Cut a piece of white cardstock the same size as the card itself and emboss it. Then adhere it to the front of the card.
2. Cut a strip of pink card that measures the width of the card and is about 4 cm in height. Adhere it to the bottom of the card.
3. Tear a piece of white fiber paper and then stick it to the left side of the card.
4. Die cut 3 large flowers, 3 medium sized flowers, 3 circles, and 1 swirl and heart.
5. Glue the swirl and small heart to the top left corner of the card.
6. Adhere the flowers first together in alternating colors and then use 3-D foam tape to adhere them to the card.
7. Stamp “Happy Birthday” or other message to a piece of white card. Cut out around it in an oval shape. Poke a small hole in the left and ride side of the oval and insert a brad in each hole. then adhere the oval to the card.
