Spring and Easter Craft Projects - Acrylic Painting - “Field of Flowers”

Painting is a wonderful way to express yourself and a perfect way to relax. The pictures themselves do not have to be complicated. Sometimes less is better. The most important is to enjoy what you are doing and simply put your thoughts on canvas. This painting combines flowers that were cut out with a scroll saw. The advantage of doing that is that you can have exactly what you want as a motif and the motif itself has more depth. A glass nugget is used for the center of the flower for even more dimension.

Instructions:

1. Paint structure paste on the picture and let it first dry before continuing. Add shades of green and yellow to the canvas and blend the shades with each other while the paint is still wet. Try to paint with wide strokes across the canvas as if you are painting waves. Let the paint dry.
2. Draw flowers onto your plywood and saw them out.
3. Sand the flowers down and paint the front and sides of the flowers yellow.  Let them dry.
4. After the flowers are dry, dry brush orange along the top and side edges of the flowers and let the paint dry.
5. Decide where you want to place your flowers. Use the hot glue gun to adhere the flowers to the canvas.
6. Use the jewelry glue to attach glass nuggets to the canvas and to the front of the flowers. Let the glue thoroughly dry and the pictures are ready to hang.
