You can sew this hen and use it in different ways:
1. Create a set of these as egg cosies or egg warmers. Egg cosies are decorative and practical. After boiling an egg, place the egg inside of this felt figure to cover it and keep it hot until breakfast.
2. Another example would be to create a doll out of the pattern. Sew as written in the instructions below, stuff slightly and sew the bottom closed. It can be used to decorate Easter baskets.
3. Create these figures for kindergarten kids to use as hand puppets.

For this project you will need:
- White textile felt 3-4 mm thick
- stiff red and yellow felt scraps for sack, beak and comb
- stiff felt in red for comb and face sack
- 3 yellow flower brads
- 2 black seed beads
- white sewing thread
- fabric or textile glue
- artist chalk for the cheeks

Instructions:
1. Print out the pattern to a size that you would like to use.
2. Transfer and cut the pieces out of the felt. You will need two body pieces. The body is made using the soft felt and all other pieces using the stiff felt.
3. Pin and sew the body pieces together about 7 mm or 1/4 inch from the outer edge. Leave the bottom open. Enclose the comb between the two layers while sewing.
4. Use textile glue to glue the beak and sack onto the hen.
5. Sew on the seed bead eyes.
6. Punch the ends of the flower brads through the front of the hen and close the brads on the inside of the body.
7. Brush on rosy cheeks.
