Halloween Crafts - Felt Bat Ornament
Cookie cutters are not only useful for baking. They also make great templates to create lots of crafty projects. Here a bat cutter was used to create this creepy flying object. Fringe yarn adds an extra spookiness to the bat.

Supplies needed:
- cookie cutter in the shape of a bat - black felt - white chalk pencil - black fringe yarn - black thread - sewing needle - fiber fill - two small seed beads for the eyes

Instructions:
1. Trace the bat shape twice onto black felt and cut out. 2. Place the right sides facing each other and begin to sew using blanket stitch. While sewing, carry the fringe yarn along with the thread and sew it under the blanket stitch. If necessary, when finished, you may need to pull the fringe out from under the thread. 3. Before finishing off your bat, stuff it lightly with fiber fill. 4. Cut a piece of fringe yarn and create a loop. Sew it to the top of the head between the ears. 5. Sew on two beads for the eyes.
