Supplies needed: - 18 mm pine or other choice of wood - 6 mm plywood - Acrylic paints in the colors red, dark green, black, dark   brown, light brown and yellow - Basic sawing supplies - Sandpaper - Hand drill with 1.5 mm bit - Wire - Red natural raffia - Wood glue - Clear acrylic sealer - Pencil - Pattern below Wood Craft for Autumn - Scroll Saw Project - Basket of Apples The scent of cooking apples is a treat for the nose in the fall. Imagine the aroma of a fresh apple pie in the oven or cooked apples and cinnamon on the stove top. What better place in the autumn than the kitchen for a sign with apples as the motive? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Instructions: 1. Print out the pattern and transfer the markings on to the wood. The basket and the sign need to be cut out of the 18 mm wood and the 7 apples out of the 6 mm wood. 2. Saw all of the pieces out and sandpaper the pieces smooth. 3. Paint the basket and sign brown and the apples red with green. 4. Let all of the pieces dry. Drybrush shading and highlights on all of the pieces. For the apples use brown and yellow and for the brown pieces use black. 5. Drill the holes in the appropriate pieces according to the pattern. Drill a hole in only 2 of the apples. 6. Glue the remaining apples onto the basket using the picture as a reference. Use the wire to attach the remaining 2 apples onto the basket. 7. Paint the words “Fresh Apples” onto the sign and let dry. Use the wire and attach the sign to the basket in the designated holes. Add the wire at the top of the sign for hanging. 9.
