Wood Craft for Autumn - Scroll Saw or Jig Saw Project - Wooden Welcome Sign with Pumpkins and Leaves

Greet your visitors with the colors of the fall. Pumpkins and leaves are the perfect motifs to decorate a welcome sign for your door. This wood craft is easy but recommended for wood crafters with some experience in sawing.

 

 

Fall Wood Welcome Sign with Pumpkins and Leaves

For this project you will need:

- plywood 6 mm thick
- acrylic paint in the following colors: beige, light and dark brown, orange, dark orange, dark yellow, rust,
  dark red and green
- paint brushes
- stiff round paint brushes for the dry brushing
- scroll saw or jig saw
- wire for hanging
- drill with small bit for drilling holes to hang the sign
- wood glue
- hot glue gun
- hay

Instructions:

1. Print out the pattern and transfer the markings on to the wood and saw out.
2. Use the picture as reference and paint the pieces accordingly.
3. Drybrush shading on all of the pieces. Dark brown was used for all of the pieces of this project.
4. Glue the pumpkin stems onto the pumpkins.
5. Hot glue some hay at the bottom of the sign. Glue the pumpkins over the hay.
6. Glue the leaves onto the sign.
7. Write “Welcome” onto the small sign and let it dry. Glue it now onto the sign.
8. Use wire to hang the sign. Spiral curl the ends to keep them in place.
