1. Pin 2 sections together (right sides facing each other) as shown in the picture. When finished you will have 8 such sections.
2. Sew along the pinned edge on all 8 pieces. Clip into the seam allowance in several places on each piece.
3. Now take 2 of your sewn sections and pin right sides again together.
4. Sew these sections together.
5. This is now how it looks. Add again a new section (right sides facing) to one right side of this piece and again sew together. You will continue until all of the remaining sections are used up. For the last sides, sew the last right side to the first right side. Leave an opening for turning. On the top and bottom of the pumpkin, bunch the section ends together and sew a line across to hold all sections together. Turn your pumpkin now to the right side, stuff and then sew the opening closed.

6. Pin the 2 long sides of the stem together and sew. Now sew the top short edge and reverse the piece to the right side.
7. Run a piece of thread through the open end and pull together, closing off the hole.
8. Hand stitch the stem onto the pumpkin. On the bottom of the pumpkin, hand stitch a circle about 4 cm or 1.6 inches over the center to give it a nice finish.
