  napkin
- paper napkin with motif of choice (if possible a motif which
  covers the whole napkin)
- fusible web with the same measurements of the napkin

Tip:
Place baking paper between your iron and the fusible web when ironing. This will protect your iron from the adhesive on the fusible web.

Easter Crafts - Spring Crafts - Wood Crafts - Paper Napkin Decoupage Picture

If you have some walls in your house that need pepping up, this idea is quick and easy and very inexpensive to make. This particular motif is perfect for a kitchen or dining room. There is such a large selection of paper napkins to choose from to fit any decor. Choose a napkin that when opened, presents a whole motif that covers all 4 quarters if possible.
Wood Crafts for Spring - Decoupage Wooden Board with Apples

Instructions:

1. Cut out your piece of wood to the above measurements and sand it down smooth.
2. Base coat the wood white and let it dry. When the napkin is glued onto it, the white paint will ensure a bright color.
3. Open your napkin so that the whole motif is showing. Remove the bottom layers of the napkin.
4. Iron your napkin smooth to remove the wrinkles. Iron the fusible web on the backside of the napkin and let it cool.
5. Remove the paper backing of the fusible web and iron the napkin with the right side up to the wood board. There should be a one cm margin on all sides.
6. Apply decoupage glue to the entire front side of the wood board. This seals the napkin and also gives it a nice shimmer.
7. Drill a hole on the backside of the board at the top center. Do not drill the hole completly through.
8. If you would like another color around the border of the wood board, paint this now on the board and let it dry. In this case, I left the border white because it fit perfectly to the napkin.
