Illustrated Craft Tutorial - Decorating Items Using Decopatch Papers and Decopatch Glue

Using Decopatch papers and Decopatch glue to embellish items is lots of fun. There is a great choice of designs and colors to choose from. The papers are brilliant and do not tear when you apply the glue. They are so thin yet so durable and you can apply them to many different surfaces, whether smooth or course. When the glue is used, the papers form themselves nicely against any grooves or curves of the item being decorated and hardly throw wrinkles. When using Decopatch glues you can choose from a satin finish or a much shinier finish. All of the glues are especially designed to work well with the Decopatch papers.

	1. First of all, gather the materials you need. Choose the items you wish to decorate, the papers you would like to use to decorate the item, the glue (here a glue with a satin finish will be used) and a flat and soft paint brush. Paper mache forms are wonderful to work with. You do not need to paint them beforehand. Just apply the papers to the form as it is.
	2. Tear the decopatch paper in 1-2 inch pieces. Use more colors and designs papers to achieve an individual and unique look to the item you wish to decorate.
	3. Apply glue to an area of the item you wish to embellish. Important is that there is always glue underneath the paper when you apply it.
	4. Then add the first piece of paper. Brush glue over the paper to coat it. Add more glue to the paper mache form (or the item you are decorating) before adding the next pieces of paper.
	5. Now add the next piece of paper by overlapping it partially over the first and brush glue over this piece. Continue in this manner and alternate with the papers until the entire item is completely covered.
	6. Let the item completely dry. The papers are sealed with the glue and have a nice satin finish. Now it is ready to use as you please.
