Illustrated Craft Tutorial - More about the Cuttlebug Embossing and Die Cutting Machine

The Cuttlebug is compatible with Sizzix Sizzlets, Sizzix Original Dies and also with Double-Do Dies.You can also use the Cuttlebug combined with Sizzix Original Dies to cut fabric, fun foam and felt.

Cuttlebug with Sizzix Sizzlet 1

1. The Cuttlebug is compatible with Sizzix Sizzlets.

To process using a Sizzlet die, you will need to place your plates and materials in the following order:

1. The “A” plate
2. The “B” plate
3. The Sizzlet die with
     the foam side facing up
4. The paper or cardstock
5. A second “B” plate

2. This is the finished result using a Sizzix Sizzlet.

3. Sizzix also has the Original Dies. These are thicker dies and can also be used easily with the Cuttlebug.

To process using the Sizzix Original die, you will need to place your plates and materials in the following order:

1. The “B” plate
2. The Paper
3. The Sizzix Originals Die
     with  the foam side
     facing down
4. A second “B” plate

4. These are examples of die cut flowers.

5. In Europe, there are dies from Double-Do. These are very thin and are also compatible with the Cuttlebug.

6. To process, you will need to place your plates and materials in the following order:

1. The “A” plate
2. The “B” plate
3. The Double-Do die with
     the foam side up
4. The paper
4. the “C” Plate

7. By using one of the Sizzix Original Dies (See and follow the placement order in step 3 and replace the paper with this material), you can not only cut paper, but felt...

10. When die cutting fabric, it is wise to iron on fusible web to the backside of the fabric first  to prevent fraying. This also has the advantage that the die cut fabric can be easily ironed and appliqued on another surface.
