Spring and Easter Craft Projects - Decoupage Craft Stick Picture

This is a fun and quick way to add a spring touch to your home. A couple of craft sticks and a decorative paper napkin of your choice is all you will need to create this project.
|

|
|
|
|
For this project you will need:
- 8 jumbo craft sticks
- paper tissue or napkin with motif of choice
- decoupage glue or paper napkin applique glue
- drill with small bit
- wire for hanging
- wood glue or craft glue
- raffia for decoration

Instructions:
1. First you will need to glue the craft sticks together. The 2 cross sticks give the picture extra stability and keep it from shifting.
2. Take your paper napkin and remove all but the top layer. Add decoupage glue to your craft stick picture and “paint” the napkin onto it. Make sure you are careful not to tear the napkin. See here Paper Napkin Applique or Decoupage Tutorial for more information about this technique.
3. Once dry, drill a small hole in each side of the top cross stick.
4. Spiral curl a piece of wire and insert it into the holes as a hanger.
5. Tie a piece of raffia in a bow and tie to the wire.
