Christmas Craft - Floral Craft Decorations for the Holidays - Advent or Christmas Centerpieces

Give your tables a festive look within minutes with a floral centerpiece and candles. This project is meant for those who do not have the time to create time-consuming arrangements, yet want to add a festive touch to their tables.

We were fortunate to find this cast iron advent wreath bowl with four candle holders at a Christmas market. It makes a great base for creating this particular decoration. If you are unable to find such a bowl, consider using a metal plate instead and arranging your decorations around it..Read below to see how this decoration was assembled and how you can decorate a plate as an alternative.

Let the pictures inspire you to create a decoration of your own.

Supplies needed for red centerpiece:

- purchased cast iron advent bowl or metal plate
- greenery either fresh or fake
- candles
- 3 red glass ornaments
- 4 red sisal stars
- 1 red straw ball
- red beaded chain
- gold angel’s hair

Supplies needed for the natural centerpiece:

- purchased cast iron advent bowl or metal plate
- fresh greenery
- candles
- pinecones, dried apple slices, dried orange slices, cinnamon sticks, chestnuts, walnuts, anise stars
and other natural items that would look decorative
- gold angel’s hair
- thin gold wire

Instructions:

1. If you are fortunate to find a base like ours, first add the candles to the holders. Otherwise, if using a plate, place 1 candle in the center of the plate.
2. Add the greenery first for each of the centerpieces. Arrange it in a pleasing way. For the red centerpiece the greenery fills the bowl and on a plate, you would arrange the greenery around the center candle. Make sure it looks even around the base.
3. Add now the decorations. Feel free to experiment. For the natural centerpiece, it looks decorative if you lay a cinnamon stick over an orange slice and wrap gold wire around it a few times to hold them together. Make a couple of these for your decoration.
4. Once you are satisfied with the arrangement, add the gold angels hair to give the centerpieces a finished touch.
