1. With the two bag pieces placed right sides facing, cut a 3 x 3 cm block out of each bottom corner of the bag.
2. This is how it then looks afterwards.
3. Now sew the side seams and also the bottom seam of the bag.
4. Take the side seam corner and the bottom seam corner and match the seams so there is a straight line. This will create the floor of the bag.
5. This is how it looks on the inside of the bag after the floor is sewn.
6. This is how it looks on the outside of the bag after the floor is sewn.
7. Fold the top of the bag over 1 cm and iron this seam so that it is flat.
8. Match this folded edge to the inside of the bag at the seam (sewing line) where the checked fabric was sewn to the green fabric and pin.
9. Once it is pinned all around, sew around the bag 1 cm from the top edge and 1 cm from the bottom edge where you have it pinned.
10. Use the seam ripper and open a couple of stitches between the sewing lines. Insert the cording through this opening and pull it through this “tunnel” until it comes out again from the other side. Secure the cording ends and cut to the length you wish to have.
