Card for the Birth of a Baby - “Baby Carriage”
Perhaps you know someone who has given birth to a baby and you would like to create a handmade card for the special occasion. This card is created within an hour. You may choose to adapt the colors depending on the gender of the baby. This card is in apricot for a girl.  If you are giving a card for a boy, a light blue or green may be more appropriate.

For this project you will need:

- White or cream colored blank card
- apricot colored cardstock
- textured cardstock in white or cream
- pattern for a baby carriage
- motif puncher with large heart
- paper ribbler
- scissors with decorative edge
- hole puncher
- 2 brass fasteners
- small verse for a baby that you know, or out
  of a book or internet
- 3-D pads
- glue
- scissors

Instructions:

Use the picture as a placement guide.

1. Design your own baby carriage shape or use a template. The design should be about 6 cm in size. Trace the design on the apricot colored cardstock and cut out.
2. Punch a large heart out.
3. Cut a 8 cm square out of the light colored cardstock using the decorative edged scissors.
4. Glue the carriage in the middle of the square. Stick a couple of 3-D pads on the backside of the heart and stick it onto the square as well.
5. Glue the square to a piece of the apricot colored cardstock and again cut a square out slightly larger. Use the decorative edged scissors.
6. Cut out a triangle from the apricot colored cardstock that is the length of the card. Place this piece through the paper ribbler and glue it then to the blank card. You may need to use paper clips to hold the triangle in place until it is dry.
7. Glue the square now over the triangle.
8. Print out a nice text onto a piece of the apricot colored cardstock and cut it out with a 5 mm margin on the top and bottom and a 1 cm margin on the sides.
9. Punch 2 holes in both top corners of the saying piece and at the same time through the card.
10. Use the brass fasteners to hold the saying in place.
