Paper napkin applique is a useful way to recycle! Many items that would otherwise land in the garbage bin can be saved, decorated and reused for other purposes. Here a can was decoupaged and used as a utensil can for the craft room. But you can also use such a can as packaging for Christmas cookies or other Christmas gifts.
For this project you will need:
- paper napkin with winter scene - cleaned coffee or other can - paper napkin applique glue or decoupage glue - paintbrush - white acrylic paint - snow paint for added detail (optional) - iridescent glitter (optional)
Instructions:
1. Wash cans out and let them thoroughly dry. 2. Basecoat the cans with white acrylic paint. 3. Follow the instructions in the link below to learn how to decoupage the paper napkins onto the can. 4. When dry, you can add snow paint around the details for extra texture. Sprinkle iridescent glitter into the still wet snow paint for added sparkle.
