Jewelry Crafts - Crafting with Beads - Brown Beaded Necklace With Glass Pendant
This necklace with its brown glass pendant fits great to beige or brown colored clothing and is quick and easy to make. Increase or decrease the amount of beads to get the length you would like your necklace to be. This necklace is approximately 26 cm or 10 1/2 inches long.

For this project you will need:

- 14 (+ -) 6mm brown faceted diamond
  shaped glass beads
- pack of silver crimping beads
- 2 silver jump rings
- 1 silver screw closure
- 1 large brown glass pendant with hole in the
  top and bottom
- 1 brown round glass bead
- small flat pliers
- 1 roll of perlon thread 0.40 mm thick

Instructions:

1. Cut the length of thread you wish your necklace to be. You may choose to double the thread for extra stability if you like. In that case, use a thread that is a bit thinner.
2. Take a 4mm round bead and insert two ends into the hole and pull the bead to the center. Gather the ends together and now insert them through the large pendant. The round bead prevents the pendant from falling off. (See picture 1 above)
3. Add now both ends through two faceted beads. (See picture 1 above)
4. Now you will be working on each end individually. Start with adding a crimping bead to one side about 3 cm or 1.2 inches from the two beads. Now insert a faceted bead on the thread. (See picture 2 above) The crimping bead will prevent the faceted bead from sliding all the way down. Add the next crimping bead 3 cm above the last crimping bead and then add the next faceted bead. Continue in this manner unter you have used up all 6 (+ -) beads on one side.
5. Repeat step 4 for the other side.
6. Add your closure as described in the technique in this link:
