Here in Germany, many homes have an advent wreath on their tables in December. Traditionally the families sit with their children around the table and sing Christmas songs and enjoy the moment together. It is also a time for meditating, a time for remembering, a time for praying and a time for peace. One sees the advent wreaths not only in the homes, but in churches and often in other public buildings and offices. Here is an example of such a wreath. It can be decorated with ribbon, nuts, cinnamon sticks, dried apple and orange slices, pine cones and other natural items if you like for a natural look.
