Easter Craft for Kids - Fuzzy Craft Stick Easter Chick

Ages 7 and older

Who would believe that this chick is made using a craft stick? This feathered friend looks and feels very soft and is a lot of fun for the kids to craft for Easter. This craft project is made within 30 minutes if using thick glue but needs much less time when using hot glue.

Supplies needed:

- 1 jumbo craft stick (tongue depresser)
- 3 x  50 cm stems of yellow chenille
- scrap piece of orange cardstock
- 5 yellow feathers
- 2 x 0,5 cm wiggly eyes
- thin red paper twist (for bow)
- thick craft glue or hot glue (adult
  supervision is advised when kids are
  using hot glue)

Craft Idea for Kids - Spring and Easter Craft - Fuzzy Craft Stick Chick

Instructions: (Always add a dot of glue to the beginning an end of each chenille stem when adding them.)

1. Start at the backside of the stick. Start wrapping the first chenille stem and continue wrapping it around until it is used up. Add the second chenille stem in the same manner. Then add the third stem.
2. Cut out a small triangle and glue it on for the nose.
3. Glue on the wiggly eyes.
4. Add 5 feathers to the backside of the chick. Three feathers should be pointed upwards and beyond the head so one can see them when looking at the front of the chick. The other two feathers are the chick’s wings and should be glued on downwards and so that they can be seen on each side of the body.
5. Tie a piece of paper twist into a bow and glue it on to the front of the chick.
